Dental Implants

Losing a tooth is more common than you might realize. Patients of all ages can suffer from infection, decay, or an accident that requires an extraction. While we do our best to save your natural teeth, it is not always possible and may even jeopardize your other teeth or your overall health.

When you are facing a dental extraction, Dr. Shah can guide you through the process and recommend tooth-replacement options that will work best for you!

Benefits of Dental Implants – A Long-Term Solution for Missing Teeth

Many of our patients have heard about the benefits of dental implants, making them the first choice when replacing missing teeth. Dental implants closely mimic your natural teeth, provide outstanding stability, and allow you to enjoy an unrestricted diet.

Dental implants also assist with preserving your jawbone. Bone loss is common with tooth loss and can affect the health of your bite, smile, and even your appearance. Dental implants integrate with your natural bone and discourage the process of resorption.

Esthetically speaking, dental implants are the best choice! We create custom dental implant crowns that match your smile. No one will notice that you have had a dental implant.

Because dental implants mimic your natural teeth, you take care of them the same way! Brushing, flossing, dental cleanings, and regular exams will result in longevity and are the best insurance to protect your natural teeth and your dentistry.

Dental Implant Treatment

Dental implants require a couple of steps to complete the process. After determining you are a good candidate for dental implants and your bone is healthy enough for surgery, we will surgically place the dental implant. This process sounds scary, but Dr. Shah has the proper training, experience, and skills to ensure this process goes smoothly.

Most patients recover quickly from surgery and report minimal discomfort, most often managed with over-the-counter pain medications.

Once in place, your dental implant needs time to heal and integrate with your bone. This usually takes several months.

Dental Implant-Retained Dentures

If you have dentures that move when you speak or eat, you may benefit from dental implant technology. Dr. Shah can place a few dental implants and provide a way for your dentures to lock into place. They will stay put when you eat, speak, and laugh.

This procedure has given many of our patients a new lease on life! It adds confidence and prevents sore gums by holding your dentures in place when you need it most.
